Growth at the IFN:
New member "timber worXs" simplifies the international trade in raw timber

Bonn/Frankfurt am Main. The Initiative Furnier + Natur (IFN) e.V. welcomes a new member to its current ranks of 31 companies in the veneer industry: With immediate effect, the Frankfurt-based IT specialist timber worXs is strengthening the IFN family with a new type of online platform designed to considerably facilitate the raw wood trade between suppliers and buyers.

The company was founded by worXs group GmbH, which is also based in Frankfurt am Main. The company specializes in the digitalization and optimization of business processes. "As a team of independent entrepreneurs from all sectors of the economy, we want to use our IT experience to further develop and simplify the raw timber trade. To this end, we offer an online platform that enables high transparency, simple operation, consistent and uniform processing, as well as maximum security and a guaranteed warranty for suppliers and buyers of raw timber," explains timber worXs founder and CEO Gustav R. Gaß. His company uses innovative technology that works with cloud-based verification processes.

"Specifically, it works like this: the raw timber is recorded in the forest by the seller in the timber worXs app and automatically digitally optimized for the rest of the process. The data is checked and can then be made available for auctions without any further effort. Potential buyers can now choose individually from the various offers and then make automated purchase transactions," says Gaß and continues: "The subsequent purchase contract is also digital and no longer requires any contractual work. Finally, our company can approve the delivery and monitor compliance. Fees for using the app are only incurred if a transaction actually takes place between buyer and seller." The aim is to contribute to a sustainable, transparent and efficient energy future that meets all regulatory requirements.

Ursula Geismann, IFN Managing Director and trend expert, is looking forward to the future collaboration. "A standardized, fair and secure trading process creates trust for sellers and buyers. In times of an increasingly fast-paced economy and excessive bureaucracy, further development in the direction of digital acceleration and simplification of business processes can only be good for our industry. This creates transparency and security for the future," concludes Geismann. IFN/DS
