Bonn/Vienna. Built in 1902, the Gösserhalle in Vienna-Favoriten - the former beer warehouse of the Gösser brewery - now shines in new splendor thanks to the best oak veneer from the Tettnang-based company europlac. The natural material gives the striking industrial building, which was converted into a three-storey office building for the Waterdrop company, that certain something.
More than 2000 square meters of the best European oak veneer were used for the wall cladding in the office wing and café area, among others. The INOIS ® TS elements made from this material also serve to optimize the acoustics in the various rooms. This is achieved thanks to veneered slats protected with hard wax oil, which are mounted at intervals on a black, sustainably produced fleece. The fleece, which is visible in the shadow gaps, ensures a reduction in speech and footfall sound. "Thanks to the veneer and the cleverly installed slats, the rooms in the office building have a modern yet homely feel. This has created a pleasant, never boring working environment that proves once again that something new and exciting can always be created from the best of the forest," says Ursula Geismann, Managing Director of Initiative Furnier + Natur and long-time trend consultant, about the project. "At the same time, I think it's great that the old facades of the industrial building have been preserved. Wood - or rather its veneer - manages this balancing act of a visually harmonious connection between historical building fabric and modern interior ambience with ease." IFN/DS

The Initiative Furnier + Natur (IFN) e.V. was founded in 1996 by the German veneer industry and its partners. Today it is supported by European companies from the veneer industry, the trade and the veneer processing industry as well as trade associations of the wood industry. The aim of the association is to promote veneer as a natural all-round material.
