Anything goes: cupboard, handbag, book… - Veneer is the thinnest solid wood in the world

Bad Honnef. Anyone who thinks of veneer, rightly thinks of wood and nature. Veneer is the thinnest solid wood in the world and can therefore do more than its massive relation: With its unique thinness it stands for individual one-off items in innumer-able areas of use. From attractive furniture to fashionably de-signed handbags or even book jackets for LED lights say. Ve-neer is always a natural and special surface material.

There is virtually nothing that cannot be made of finished using the thinnest solid wood in the world. In the interior design sector alone, the possibilities are limitless. Chairs, tables, cupboards, beds, lamps, bath tubs, washbasins, anything can be made with the best part of the tree. The uses extend to windows, doors, walls, ceilings and floors. “There are now also numerous fashionable products as per-sonal articles of everyday use objects made from the sustainable ecological and modern material: handbags, trolley cases, mousepads and spectacles”, says the Secretary of Furnier + Natur (IFN), Ursula Geismann. There are also fast as lightning kiteboards for water rats, downhill skis for winter sports fans or even longboards for a special kind of locomotion. And musicians always enjoy ve-neered and melodic string and plucked instruments, percussion in-struments or fine veneered pianos. IFN

Initiative Furnier + Natur (IFN)
Initiative Furnier + Natur (IFN) e.V. was founded in 1996 by the German veneer industry and its partners. The purpose of the association based in Bad Honnef is to promote veneer as a material. It is funded and supported by European companies in the veneer indus-try, trade and the veneer processing industry as well as professional associations of the timber industry.
