Roser AG:
Zülpich/Birsfelden. Roser AG from Birsfelden in Switzerland has realised a remarkable veneer project in the business hub ‘The Circle' at Zurich Airport together with Schäfer Schreinerei AG, also from Switzerland. Under the direction of the renowned Japanese architect Riken Yamamoto, a modern and at the same time natural environment was created for the settlement of internationally active companies.
Specially selected oak veneers were used for the project, which were coordinated in terms of both colour and texture to create a harmonious and appealing environment. ‘The special type of wood was selected together in our company's konzept.raum, which ensured perfect coordination and the highest quality standards,' says Fabian Sager, who is responsible for veneer projects at Roser, among other things. Employees from Schreinerei Schäfer flew to the Roser AG veneer factory especially for the project and witnessed the production of the veneer. ‘As a result, we delivered around 8,000 square metres of raw veneer, which was carefully sorted by hand according to colour and texture,' reports Sager.
The veneer supplied was used to create several elements, including wall panelling, reception counters, the cloakroom, various tables and the toilet area. ‘These elements make a significant contribution to the aesthetic and functional quality of ‘The Circle', a place that not only serves as a business hub, but also as an inspiring meeting place for professionals from all over the world. 80,000 square metres of state-of-the-art office space are available, as well as a variety of additional uses that can promote synergies under one roof,' says Sager happily. IFN Managing Director Dirk-Uwe Klaas comments: ‘Veneer has become an integral part of the modern working world. The material can be used in many different ways and is particularly sustainable, as this project once again demonstrates perfectly.' IFN/DS
